2010: WINNER - Griffintown Interrupted Competition HTDSTUDIO recently won the Horsepalace category of the Griffintown Interrupted Competition in Montreal, Canada. Griffintown Interrupted is an international ideas competition which calls for temporary architectural responses to five sites in Griffintown, Montréal. The competition has received support from Griffintown advocates, architecture blogs, local media, and from participants in ten countries. 2010: SHORTLISTED - BBBC / Haiti Housing Competition HTDSTUDIO were selected to move on to the second stage of the BBBC / Haiti Housing Competition. The object is to create safe, sustainable modular housing for the Republic of Haiti. Location: Republic of Haiti

2008: SHORTLISTED - DiStasio Ideas Competition: Australian Pavilion at Venice Biennale HTDSTUDIO were shortlisted for their design of a new Australian Pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The competition was sponsored by Rinaldo DiStasio of Distasio Winery and Restaurant. Their entry also part of a 252-page book titled "VENICE BIENNALE NEW AUSTRALIAN PAVILION / DiStasio Ideas Competition" (ISBN 978-1-921026-02-7) created by DiStasio and Design by Pidgeon, Australia, and was also part of a video exhibition at the Heide Museum of Modern Art, St. Kilda, Melbourne, Australia. 2004: FINALIST - Burnham Prize / Chicago Waterways Competition International Design firm HTDSTUDIO were selected as one of ten finalists of the two-staged Chicago Waterways Competition, Sponsored by the Chicago Architecture Club. The Winner of stage received the Burnham Prize, a 3-month fellowship at the American Academy in Rome. Jesse Reiser of Reiser + Umemoto chaired the second stage Jury. |
2003: WINNER - Edward Waters College Library, Jacksonville, Florida HTDSTUDIO teamed with Udenze Architecture of Jacksonville, Florida to win the EWC Library Commission over 17 other firms. |
2000: NJIT Mentor Program Certificate of Appreciation Howard Duffy was awarded the NJIT Mentor2000 Certificate of Appreciation by Dean Urs P. Gauchat for his participation in the program where professionals mentor a senior architecture student, discuss their thesis projects, take them on field trips to construction sites and explain the day to day workings of the industry. |
1998: Inducted, African American Design Archive, Cooper Hewitt / Smithsonian Design Director Howard Duffy's work is documented as part of the Cooper-Hewitt African Design Archive. His work is used as educational reference to the public.
